Renew the Faith‑Labor‑Civil Rights Alliance in 2026
Join Building One New Jersey—Renew the Faith‑Labor‑Civil Rights Alliance in 2026
Dear Leader,
We are inviting you to renew or become a member of Building One New Jersey – by paying annual affiliation dues and taking on the responsibilities of membership.
Who we are
We are a multi-issue, faith‑ and value‑based alliance. Our power comes from organized people, not donors or politicians. We fight for structural solutions to inequality—not short‑term fixes.
Our membership is institutional
Your leadership comes through your organization:
- Faith‑based congregation
- Labor union
- Civic or local chapter‑based association
Each member organization appoints two delegates to our Board of Directors (e.g., senior pastor + lay leader, or union equivalent). You also get a vote in the Leadership Assembly—our governing body that approves budgets and annual plans and elects the board.
Why join now? New Jersey, 2026
With a new administration in Trenton, we must build multiracial power that is autonomous, self‑governing, and independent of political parties, government entities, elected officials, foundations, and wealthy donors.
Key 2026 action: Labor‑Civil Rights Conference & Leadership Assembly
Save the date: August 28 or October 12 (final date soon)
We will hold a conference to review, update, and reaffirm our policy agenda. This conference will also act as a leadership assembly—so as a member, you and your organization will help shape our program and plan moving forward.
Bring your leadership and rank-and-file members. More details coming immediately.
A national-caliber leadership training—for you and your team
We conduct one of the best leadership training classes in the country—and we make it available to our member organizations and their leadership. Our November 2026 training will equip your delegates and emerging leaders with the skills to build power, run campaigns, and govern effectively. This is a core benefit of membership.
Your next steps
1. Affirm your membership now: [insert membership link]
2. Need more information? Reply to this email or call us. We’ll schedule a conversation and answer any questions.
3. Mark your calendar for the conference and plan to send leaders to our top‑tier training in November.
We look forward to building power and a more just and equitable New Jersey with you.
In solidarity and power,
Rev. Dr. Willie D. Francois III
Mrs. LaRae Smith, Shiloh Baptist Church, Vineland
Mr. Anthony Abrantes, Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters
