This training is designed to initiate and support an internal and external one-on-one outreach process aimed at building our base and strengthening our leadership infrastructure. The training will equip and prepare leaders for a program to expand and deepen the active engagement of leaders and rank and file members in unions, congregations, and civil rights groups. At the same time, it will create the relational and institutional foundation for a diverse group of organizations to work together to achieve common goals and act with a unified purpose to defend and expand an inclusive middle class in New Jersey.

The training will be held at the Rutgers University Inn and Conference Center starting Friday night, June 17, 7:00 PM and running though Saturday Afternoon, June 18 at 3:00 PM. 

The cost will be $150 person and $90.00 per person for Building One New Jersey dues paying members. This will include the training plus (double occupancy) overnight accommodations as well as breakfast and lunch on Saturday, June 18. 

There will be only 50 slots available for leaders from participating organizations. They will be made available on a first come first serve basis and must be reserved by registering on line.

This training is not for individuals who are not connected with an organization. It is for leaders attending with or on behalf of an organization and as part of a team sent by that organization. Teams should be from 3 to 5 attendees per organization.

This training is for leaders from all over New Jersey – including officers, organizers, clergy, and volunteers from the faith community, labor, electoral politics, public office holders, and grassroots leaders. who want to become more effective at recruiting, developing, motivating, and mobilizing leaders from thier rank-and-file, staff, general membership and among your allies.

Attendees must be prepared to attend the entire training, which will include a 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM session on Friday, June 17 and a 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM session on Saturday, June 18. All attendees are strongly encouraged to stay overnight Friday through Saturday. Lodging (double occupancy) at the University Inn at Rutgers is included in the fee.

This training is sponsored by Building One New Jersey, a statewide grassroots organizing network. The training was designed and will be conducted by experienced trainers from Building One America, a national organizing and leadership training network.
