Policy Opportunities in 2014

Transportation: NJ receives almost $1 billion annually from Washington for transportation, creating jobs and fixing bridges, roads, and rails. NJ’s FIVE moderate Republican congressmen are key to transportation legislation.  In September 2014, a new transportation bill will give us a chance to get MORE spent in cities and diverse older suburbs like West Orange, Hamilton, Egg Harbor City, Burlington Township, Woodbridge, Somerdale, and Teaneck.

Together North Jersey (TNJ): TNJ can promote sustainable and equitable infrastructure investment for years to come; but only if we keep working to ensure that the plan promotes inclusion.

Education: The NJ school funding formula rewards inclusive communities but must be fully funded.  We’ll be working to preserve and fund the formula as the economy continues its slow recovery.

All institutions and organizations should send a delegation of 2-4 key leaders.
